CRAP????

June 26th, 2007

Ok, so the title is confusing but it was better then CRAP Continued or CRAP2. Anyways I had a comment to the last post and I think it is worth a post all by itself :

  1. Ken Westin Says:
If you buy another iPod or any device for that matter you may want to take a look at GadgetTrak (http://www.gadgettheft.com ), you install a small bit of software on your device. If it is stolen you flag it on their website and the next time it is connected it sends you information regarding its location, the person’s username, computer name and more.

Thanks Ken, it looks worth the try.

CRAP!

June 5th, 2007

I lost my ipod the other day, I hate to say it, but I think it was stolen out of my rental car from one of the employees at the rental company. That’s the last time I had it. I would say that I had left it in the car but when I called to check they said nothing was in the car and I know I left something else in it. So at the very least they lied about the one item. Anyways I am trying a website out called stolen ipods. We’ll see if they actually can help or not.

Phew!!!!

June 5th, 2007

Finally it’s all over, well not all but the big stuff. The reason for the lack of posts is simple, we have had many trade, and other shows for the business, but the biggest of all I got Married!!!!!! The last month and a half has been dedicated to wedding and honeymoon.

Finally, The Sun Has Risen!

April 5th, 2007

Well last week I finally got my copy of Sun Microsystems, Solaris. I gotta tell ya it was not very impressive at all. It was like going back in time and using old versions of Linux with Gnome, I couldn’t get a bunch of my hardware to work and the overall look and feel was not much better than Windows ME. Anyone looking for an alternative to Microsoft should steer clear of this one at least until version 11 comes out . Try something much easier like Ubuntu.

Other Things of Note

March 8th, 2007

Just a quick note I still have not received my copy of Solaris. The folks at Sun have seemed to have forgotten me. I went to their site and requested a new one so we’ll see if I get this one. On the other hand I am patiently awaiting the new Ubuntu coming out in April. I can’t wait to see if they have support for certain features on my laptop. More coming shortly………

Just Post Something!!!!!

March 8th, 2007

I know everyone is waiting for my big Vista post. I’m just not quite there yet. I have a bunch of stuff down and another one I am working on for Vista, I’m just not ready to put it all down yet. Hang on it’s coming though.

Almost There!

January 16th, 2007

Just another 2 weeks or so until Vista comes out, I can’t wait. In the meantime, I have been working on the new Ubuntu, an Asterisk Box and I just ordered my free DVD of Solaris to try. i just really really want Vista. I know, lots of links in this one.

Finally Proof!!!!!!

SO here is the proof that I don’t get paid by Microsoft. If I did I would have one of these.

Taxes, Minimum Wage, and Cost of Living

December 1st, 2006

I see a lot of people getting excited about the potential for a HUGE minimum wage increase on a federal level. While other states like NY have already been through some major increases. When people are able to get more money from their job it’s a good thing right? Maybe not, you see, when wages are changed in a free and open amrket it’s usally because the company is growing and can afford to spend more on their staff. When things are done by the government they affect everyone at the same time, with no regard for how a business is doing. This can lead to businesses closing and can cost us more jobs than it should. The other thing to consider is the reason for the increase. Most people believe it’s to increase quality of life for those on the bottom of the economic chain. The real reason in most cases is to get more taxes out of us, by raising minimum wage, certain political parties can claim they don’t want to raise taxes and help the “working man”, but what they are doing is raising the amount of taxes they collect from the hard working people and in turn raising the amount of taxes businesses pay for those hard working people. “So What?” you may ask, well this cost is almost always passed on to the consumer, which means prices go up. So you get more money, but you have to pay more in taxes and more for living expenses because the cost of them rises. This means that the standard of living never really changes for anyone they just keep going up along with everything else. So why does this matter? Because what is happening is tax money is actually increasing, not by raising taxes but by rasing taxable income. For lack of a better way to put it it’s just a “Marketing Scheme” to get people to agree with the increase for the so-called good of the hard working americans. When McDonalds raises the price of the dollar menu don’t be suprised, it’s just to make of for paying that burger flipper more money. Just remember that when you think you are paying too much for that Denny’s breakfast, remember that we asked for this increase in living.
